Qin Yuan, 64, a resident of Hechuan district, Chongqing municipality, recently swallowed his dentures while asleep.

He had been fitted with new gnashers a month or so previously, and was puzzled when he woke up one morning to find them missing from his dental cavity. He sought medical advice after experiencing discomfort in the days that followed. Doctors located the dentures in his lung and surgically removed them. They told the man that snoring had sucked the dentures into his lung as he slept, and suggested that in future he take them out before going to bed.
