The grandmother, an Alzheimer's sufferer, accidentally fell into the well on a soybean field on Wednesday morning.
Her family rushed to help her but was held back by the danger.
The well, over 20 meters deep and 40 centimeters in diameter, was quite wet and slippery and covered with lichens. With water gathering at the bottom after a storm, it became quite difficult to get access to.
Local soldiers rushed to the spot only to find a water snake had entangled the old lady, who was almost unconscious at the bottom of the deep well.
A soldier was lowered head first into the well where he finally managed to pull the grandmother out after the capture of the snake.
The grandmother was taken to the hospital for observation immediately. Except for some scratches and trauma, the old lady was unscathed.
