Jasper Tsang Yok-sing elected HKSAR LegCo president

HONG KONG -- Jasper Tsang Yok-sing was elected president of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Wednesday. Tsang won 36 to 24 against Fred Li Wah-ming of the Democratic Party in a secret ballot by the 60 newly sworn-in members of the fourth Legislative Council (LegCo) of the HKSAR. He was to succeed Rita Fan Hsu Lai-tai as LegCo president. Tsang, 61, was a member of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong. |
