Falsely accused rapist cleared 37 years on

An 80-year-old man has been cleared of a rape charge after 37 years of tireless effort to clear his name.

Chen Zhenfu, a resident of Chongqing's Shizhu county, was a doctor at a local hospital when he was charged with rape by a county governmental committee back in 1971 during the "cultural revolution".

Chen, who never raped anyone, has frequently complained to upper level administrations to clear his name over the past 37 years.

And his relentless efforts were rewarded when he was finally exonerated by a court recently.
