Soldiers help evacuate residents affected by landslides and mud-flows triggered by days of heavy rains in Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture of southwest China's Yunnan Province. Chuxiong is one of the worst-hit areas in the rain-triggered disasters that are known to have killed 40 people so far. Some villages in Chuxiong were completely isolated after roads were cut off by the geological disasters, which followed almost 10 days of heavy rains. [Xinhua]
