Mechanics' extortion attempt lands them in jail

Three mechanics in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, used a toy gun to extort 3 million yuan from family members of a BMW sedan owner.

The trio had worked repairing cars for a long time and was envious of people with luxury cars.

On Nov 1, they followed a BMW driver to a remote site and purposely drove into it with their car.

When the BMW owner got out to inspect the damage, he was abducted by the trio wielding a toy gun.

After successfully extorting money from the victim's family that night, they fled to Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang, where they were caught by police the next day.
