Taicang Mayor Xie Ming holds the China-Germany Enterprise Coopeation Base plaque at a ceremony in Taicang, Jiangsu Province.

In 2006, Taicang German Investment Industrial Park was approved by the government of Jiangsu province. Taicang has earned itself the name of "the Hometown to German Companies in China."

The ties between Taicang and German enterprises have been further strengthened by increasing exchanges and cooperation. This year, Taicang has not only succeeded in holding "Germany-Taicang Day" in Stuttgart, but also hosted "Germany-China tour -Taicang week" activities. Taicang is the only county-level city included in the "Germany-China tour."

The exchanges and cooperation have gone beyond economic field. It has reached into education and culture. Training centers for technicians set up by Germany and Taicang have met the need of German companies, and other companies as well.

"German investment has made this city much more competitive in terms of creativity and industrial structure. We are going to take full advantage of China-Germany enterprises cooperation base and make it a shining example for German-invested companies in other places. We are committed to making greater contribution to China-Germany cooperation and regional development," an official in Taicang said.
