Updated: 2008-12-16 16:24 BEIJING - A photo exhibit unveiled Tuesday commemorates 30 years of China's opening up and reform. Three hundred pictures by 88 of China's award-winning photographers capture significant moments in the country's past three decades, including ordinary life in the 1980s, stock markets in the 1990s and, most recently, the Shenzhou VII spacecraft astronauts returning back to Earth. The show would help visitors relive and remember the years of changes and development, a spokesman for China Photographers' Association said. China's reform and opening-up drive, launched in 1978, has brought unprecedented development and prosperity to the arts sector, which is reflected in the pictures, it said. The exhibit is being held downtown at the Cultural Palace of Nationalities and will run until December 21 before continuing on a national tour. |
