Macao's visitor arrivals rise 3 pct in November

Updated: 2008-12-24 00:03 MACAO -- The number of Macao's visitor arrivals totaled 2.5 million in November 2008, a year-on-year increase of 3 percent, according to the figures released Tuesday by the city's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
The majority of the visitors still came from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, which accounted for 57.7 percent and 27.5 percent of the total respectively, according to the DSEC figures. In the first 11 months of 2008, visitor arrivals rose by 13.4 percent year-on-year to 2.76 million. Visitors from the mainland and Southeast Asia grew by 20.1 percent and 38.5 percent year-on- year respectively, and those from Hong Kong went up slightly by 0. 6 percent. |
