The fire broke out at about 12:30 pm in Shaxian County, 270 km from Fujian's capital Fuzhou, cutting off power to the Sanming section of the Hengfeng-Fuzhou and Yingtan-Xiamen railway lines and delaying 26 trains.

Free food and water were offered to passengers before their travel resumed at about 9 pm.

Wind drove the fire toward National Highway No. 205, and sections of the Fuzhou-Yinchuan and Nanchang-Fuzhou highways were temporarily blocked.

More than 1,500 policemen and firefighters were trying to put out the fire, and it was expected to be extinguished Friday morning.

Eleven people were evacuated out of safety concern.

No casualties were reported so far and cause of the fire is under investigation.

Another forest fire broke out in the eastern Jiangxi province at about 6:50 pm, delaying a train heading for Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu.
