Affected by the cold front, areas to the north of the Huaihe River would expect high winds and a temperature drop of four to eight degrees Celsius, while temperature in some of the regions would experience a sharp plunge of more than 10 degrees Celsius.

The observatory also forecast dusty weather in central and southeastern parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Flurry or moderate snow was to hit northeastern parts of Inner Mongolia on Sunday and Monday, while regions in Jilin and Heilongjiang would experience heavy snow.

Meanwhile, sleet, flurry or moderate snow would hit northwestern parts of the country since Monday, while northern regions of Xinjiang would experience heavy snow or snowstorm.
