A solo photograph exhibition reflecting Tibet is being held at the National Art Museum of China in the early spring.

Nearly 100 photos are on show, reflecting the changes and developments in the autonomous region.

Lan Zhigui, a photographer, joined the 18th Corps of the People's Liberation Army and entered Tibet in 1951 as a young photojournalist. He witnessed and captured on film all the major events in Tibetan society from 1951-1970, including its peaceful liberation, feudalistic serfdom society, quelling of riots and democratic reforms.

Of high historic and academic value, these black and white photos depict Tibet’s past, showing Tibetan harvesting, shepherding and the celebration of local festivals.

The exhibition lasts till the end of March.
