Chinese killed in Binghamton shooting

Updated: 2009-04-05 08:28 NEW YORK -- Chinese were among those killed in Binghamton shooting Friday, Chinese Consulate-General in New York quoted police sources as saying Saturday.
As many as 14 people have been shot dead, four injured in a murderous three-minute shooting rampage inside an upstate New York civic association building that caters to immigrants. According to the Chinese Consulate-general in New York, a Chinese student was among those wounded in the shooting. Binghamton Police Chief Joe Zikuski said that the gunman, a 41- year-old Vietnamese immigrant named Jiverly Wong, entered the one- story American Civic Association in downtown Binghamton around 10: 30 a.m. Friday and began his shooting spree. He took his own life after killing 13 people. |
