6 trapped in N China iron mine flood

Updated: 2009-04-15 08:37 SHIJIAZHUANG -- Six workers were trapped in a illegally-operated iron mine that flooded Tuesday in north China's Hebei Province, local authorities said.
The Zunhua municipal government received a tip-off about the flooding at 1 p.m. Zunhua is under the administration of Tangshan City, one of China's major producers of iron and steel. Rescue work is ongoing. The iron mine has no production license. The mine owner is under police investigation. |
