Medics at the Suichuan People's Hospital in Jiangxi province were perplexed after they learned their CT (computer tomography) film, valued at 60,000 yuan ($8,776), had vanished.

Police recently captured seven people who stole the film, residents of Yongxing county, Hunan province.

Some 100,000 people in Yongxing are involved in the silver business.

The seven criminal suspects allegedly stole the film because it contained valuable silver. They sold the film for 20,000 yuan.
