Court awards lottery prize despite lack of ticket

The Dongbao District People's Court in Jingmen, Hubei province, ordered lottery officials to fork over the 610,000-yuan ($89,250) prize to a man whose ticket couldn't be printed due to a faulty printer.

The winner, surnamed Lu, spent 15,000 on lottery tickets in October on the Internet and transferred the money via an online bank.

Lu was told later his ticket couldn't be printed after he won. Lu then brought the city's lottery ticket center to court and the court ruled in Lu's favor late last week.
