Gala of cultures will wow expo tourists: official

Jewel in the crown

Tan Wenjie from Chongqing works at the construction site of the China pavilion in the Shanghai Expo Garden. The pavilion is expected to be completeed by the end of this year, together with other major venues in the garden. Called the Oriental Crown, the main structure of the China pavilion stands 63 meters tall. It uses traditional and wooden brackets fixed layer upon layer between the top of a column and crossbeam.  [China Daily]
