Laptop thief uses racy photos to extort couple

Police arrested a man who tried to extort money from two college students by threatening to expose images of their motel room rendezvous.

The students in Nanjiang, Jiangsu province, rented a motel room where they had a sexual romp and recorded everything on a laptop.

When they stepped out for dinner, a burglar who was staying in another room, broke in and stole their camera and computer. After seeing the photos and films, the thief surnamed Ren tried to extort 4,000 yuan ($586) from the couple.

They tried to lower the ransom and called police after the thief refused to bargain. Police nabbed Ren, an ex-con, who served time for stealing.
