Police have questioned blogger who 'hurt baby'
By Cai Ke (China Daily)
Updated: 2009-05-22 10:16 Amid public anger over a woman who admitted in a blog to harming a baby, both Jiujiang police and the blogger's former employer said yesterday they had been aware of the hotly debated issue. "She has indeed worked here as an intern, but she left on March 17," said a senior staff at Jiujiang Maternal and Child Care Service Centre, Jiangxi province.
"There were definitely no babies harmed here," the staff told China Daily. "We are aware of this and we have already questioned her and her boyfriend's family," said a police officer of Jiujiang public security bureau, without disclosing whether there will be a criminal investigation or not. Regarding the blog, the officer said he couldn't comment on "Internet hype".
After her words sparked widespread rage in the online community, she deleted the offensive article and password for her blog. However the contents of her original article had been saved by angry netizens. "I hate babies," read a copy of her blog that posters purported to be authentic. Angry netizens also made public her real name, date of birth, instant messenger number, pictures and even her former work place. |
