Kuomintang chairman visits Nanjing

NANJING - Kuomintang chairman Wu Poh-hsiung arrived in Nanjing, capital of the eastern province of Jiangsu, Saturday afternoon for the final leg of his eight-day visit to the mainland.

Kuomintang chairman visits Nanjing KMT chairman begins 8-day mainland visit

During his three-day stay in Nanjing, Wu and his delegation would visit the mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of the Kuomintang Party and the forerunner of anti-feudalism revolution in China, and would participate in activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the official burial of Dr. Sun in Nanjing.

He would also receive an honorary doctorate degree at the Nanjing University and deliver a speech on the campus.

A brief visit to the neighboring city Zhenjiang is also included in Wu and his delegation's schedules.

He will leave for Taiwan from Nanjing on Monday.
