Effort to avoid woman ends with six-car collision

Six cars collided with each other after one car tried to avoid an elderly woman who was picking up empty bottles on the Sanya-Haikou expressway in Hainan province on Sunday.

Two people were injured during the collisions. The two victims were hospitalized but the woman remained intact.

The driver of the first car said he stepped on the brakes when he saw the woman. Five cars collided with his car.

The cars were traveling at about 100 km an hour.
