Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chief Superintendent of the CCB Chan Yiu-kwok, said that it was unfortunate that culprits also make use of IT to commit crimes and there is an increasing trend of IT-related crimes in Hong Kong.

"Prevention is better than cure. We hope that through education and promoting anti-crime messages among members of the public, they will have a better understanding of the severe consequences of IT crimes," he said.

He hoped the Fight IT Crime Ambassadors would become well-equipped after the workshop and would then pass on the knowledge and help promote wider understanding of IT crime and information security in the community.
