Rainfall in Beijing may persist into next week

Updated: 2009-06-19 10:33 BEIJING -- The Meteorological Bureau of Beijing said on Friday that the capital city is experiencing its longest period of rainfall this year. The rainy weather since Wednesday may not clear until the middle of next week.
The city's average rainfall was 14 millimeters in the 24 hours up to Friday morning. The heaviest rain was in the northeast part of Beijing, which had 68 millimeters. The bureau forecast more rain on Friday. |
