BEIJING: The Chinese mainland confirmed 38 new cases of A(H1N1) flu from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 6 p.m. Wednesday, bringing the total to 528, with no reports of deaths.

Fifteen new cases were confirmed in Guangdong Province. Shanghai and Beijing each reported six new cases. Fujian, Hunan and Liaoning provinces each reported two new cases, the Ministry of Health said.

The provinces of Zhejiang, Anhui, Sichuan, Jiangsu and Jilin each reported one confirmed case, the ministry said.

According to local health authorities, 156 confirmed A(H1N1) flu cases have been reported in Guangdong, 93 in Beijing, 80 in Shanghai, 58 in Fujian, 34 in Sichuan, 21 in Zhejiang, 15 in Hubei, 12 in Liaoning, nine each in Tianjin, Jiangsu and Hunan, six in Shandong, five in Guizhou, four each in Hebei and Hainan, three in Guangxi, two each in Henan, Anhui and Chongqing, and one each in Jilin, Shanxi, Jiangxi and Yunnan.

Among the patients, 275 have been discharged from hospitals while 253 were still being treated.
