Abstinence may be key to longevity in one county
(China Daily)
Updated: 2009-07-06 08:43 Abstinence, or something close to it, has been attributed to longevity in Bama county, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. According to local customs, most people in Bama marry late and produce children later than others. Husbands and wives usually live in different rooms after they tie the knot. Bama county now has 81 residents older than 100. The figure means 31.5 out of every 100,000 people enjoy that status. (www.chinanews.com.cn) |
