HK's first serious H1N1 patient loses consciousness

Hong Kong's first "serious" A(H1N1) patient, who was confirmed carrying the pandemic Wednesday, lost consciousness today, a local newspaper reported.

The Special Administrative Region (SAR) Wednesday confirmed 41 fresh cases of the flu, including the 76-year-old man who is in a critical condition, Wenweibo, a Hong Kong-based newspaper said early today.

The patient, who was suffering from a chronic pulmonary disease, was detected to contract the virus when he went to the Hospital of Wales on July 5, a spokesperson for the Department of Health of Hong Kong said.

Hong Kong has so far confirmed 1055 cases of the flu, according to Xinhua.
