Chat room romance ends abruptly in suicide bid

Police in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, managed to save a woman who jumped into a river with her laptop that carried a photograph of her love interest, in a bid to drown "with him".

The 20-year-old woman met a man on an Internet chat room and arranged a face-to-face date on July 1. When the man didn't show, the woman got drunk and jumped into a nearby river with her computer.
