Chinese forces ready for Sunday's joint drill

TAONAN, Jilin: The deputy chief of general staff of Chinese armed forces Ma Xiaotian told reporters this morning that the Chinese military is well prepared for Sunday's joint anti-terror drill with Russia in a tactical taining base in Baicheng, Jilin Province. "Today we have no live ammunition activities. The military is checking their preparations and equipments. Hope we can achieve the best effects tomorrow," Ma said of the long-waited joint military exercieses. The more than 2,600 soldiers have conducted joint exerciese before. "They're performing better and better." After living and exercising together for more than ten days, the two armed forces hold deeper understanding with each other now, he said. "What we are expecting is just good weather tomorrow," he added. |
