Former official expelled from Communist Party

WENZHOU: A former head of the economic and technological development zone in Wenzhou, a booming city in eastern Zhejiang Province, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) for allegedly taking bribes and violating discipline.

Dai Guosen, former director of Wenzhou Economic - Technological Development Zone Administration Committee, had "grave violations of law and discipline" such as accepting or asking for huge bribes and gambling between 1997 to Feb. 2009, according to a plenary session of the Wenzhou City Committee of the CPC on Friday.
