Solemn representation lodgeed over Rebiya's visit to Japan

Updated: 2009-07-29 21:55 BEIJING: Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei summoned the Japanese ambassador to China Yuji Miyamoto Wednesday, and lodged a solemn representation to the Japanese government on its allowing Rebiya Kadeer, leader of the separatist World Uygur Congress (WUC), to visit Japan.
The Japanese government recently granted a visa to Kadeer. The WUC led by Kadeer is believed to have masterminded the July 5 Xinjiang riots that left at least 197 people dead and 1,600 others injured. |
