China imposes tariffs on coated art paper
(Xinhua)
Updated: 2009-08-04 19:41 BEIJING: China will impose anti-dumping tariffs on coated art paper from Japan and the Republic of Korea for five years, said the Ministry of Commerce Tuesday.
China's paper industry may be hurt if anti-dumping duties imposed in 2003 are scrapped, the ministry said. China cut duty on coated paper from Japan from 56 percent to 10.4 percent last November after an evaluation made at the request of the importer. Coated paper is used for high-quality printing, such as magazines. China first imposed temporary tariffs on paper imported from the United States, the Republic of Korea and Japan in November 2002 as a result of its first anti-dumping investigation after joining the World Trade Organization. |
