The first batch of trials for 110 people involved in the creation and distribution of a Trojan horse virus named “Tender” began on August 11 in Xuzhou city, Jiangsu province, the website of the Chinese News Service reported Wednesday.

This will be the largest trial for a Trojan horse virus-related crime in China to date.

Initially, 11 people will be tried. They are accused of stealing online game players’ data, including accounts and passwords, and selling virtual objects in online games for real money. The other 99 suspects will be tried soon. Collectively, they have made over 30 million yuan (US$ 4.4 million) illegally online.
