Zhejiang landslide kills 11

HANGZHOU: Eleven bodies were recovered and two injured people were rescued from the rubble of a rainstorm-triggered landslide in East China's Zhejiang province, the local government said Friday afternoon.

Rescue work was completed at around 3:00 pm Friday in Lin'an city which is administered by Hangzhou, the provincial capital, according to the local government.

The landslide occurred at around 11:30 pm Thursday in Qingliangfeng town after two hours of downpour with a precipitation of 88 mm. It buried a three-storey residential building with 13 people inside.

The two injured, one of whom seriously wounded, have been hospitalized.

A team of six experts is investigating the accident.
