Smelter blamed after lead poisons 615 kids
Lead poisoning victims and their family members hold up medical test reports in protest against the Dongling Lead and Zinc Smelting Co in Changqing town, northwest China's Shaanxi province, August 10, 2009. The plant was suspected of discharging waste that caused lead poisoning in more than 600 children. Authorities have begun work on a scheme to relocate at least 1,000 people living near the plant, Xinhua reported Friday. [CFP]
