Taiwanese companies involved in "cultural industries" such as traditional art, broadcasting and film, performances, music, and embroidery and porcelain will be highlighted at the Second Cross-Straits Culture Industries Fair, scheduled to be held at the coastal city of Xiamen across from October 28 to November 1. "Booths for Taiwan firms will account for at least 30 percent of total booths," Luo Jian, deputy secretary-general of the Fujian Provincial government said at a news conference in Beijing Monday. More than 1,000 standard booths, covering a total area of 20,000 square meters, will be on display. "The city will also make preferential policies to [encourage] purchasers to sign deals during the fair," said Luo. When the fair made its debut last year in Xiamen, a total of five billion yuan worth of deals were signed there. "For major purchasers, we can provide all necessary services all the way, including warm reception, arrangement of meetings with government officials, and providing procurement information," said Zhan Cangzhou, deputy mayor of Xiamen in east China's Fujian province. The fair will be held at the Xiamen Culture and Art Center and seven other smaller centers in the city simultaneously. |
