Mainland eager to help typhoon-hit Taiwan: Hu

The mainland is willing to offer "all kinds of" help to Taiwan to assist it in recovering from typhoon Morokat, Hu Jintao, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said Wednesday afternoon when he met a delegation of ethnic minorities from the island, the China News Service reported.

Hu also expressed his condolences to the victims of typhoon-hit areas.

Typhoon Morakot, the worst in the last 50 years, has killed 136 people on the island as of Wednesday afteroon, and left hundreds more homeless.
