Strong quakes hit China and Indonesia

SINGAPORE: A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck off Indonesia's Sulewasi on Friday, the United States Geological Survey said.

It said the quake was centred 214 km (133 miles) south southeast from Baubau in Sulewasi. The quake was measured at a depth of 627 km.

A 6.2 quake hit Northwest China's Qinghai Province, it said.
