Woman fakes kidnapping to test police efficiency

Police in Kaixian county, Chongqing municipality, detained an 18-year-old girl for lying she had been robbed and kidnapped last Tuesday.

While having dinner with her friends, the girl said she wanted to test the efficiency of the police department and phoned cops, saying she had been robbed and kidnapped.

More than 100 police officers joined in the investigation, only to learn it was a hoax.
