Schools gear up to fend off flu outbreak

Chinese schools increased prevention measures a week after the autumn term began as flu outbreaks were reported on campuses in various regions, including the provinces of Henan, Hunan, Jiangsu, Anhui and Hainan, as well as Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. By Monday, 5,592 cases of A/H1N1 flu had been reported on the Chinese mainland, of which 3,853 had recovered. There have been no deaths from the epidemic. [Xinhua] |
