Hu's envoy focuses visit on DPRK ties

Updated: 2009-09-17 20:02 BEIJING: Dai Bingguo, special envoy of Chinese President Hu Jintao, is visiting the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said at a regular news conference Thursday. As this year marks the 60th anniversary of China-DPRK diplomatic ties, Dai, also a Chinese state councilor, will deeply exchange views with the DPRK on bilateral ties and the Korean Peninsula situation, Jiang said, without releasing more details of the visit. Dai held talks Wednesday with Kang Sok Chu, DPRK's first vice foreign minister, on regional and global issues of common concern, according to Xinhua reporters in Pyongyang. |
