Overseas Chinese invited to join National Day celebrations

The Chinese government will invite more than 2,000 overseas Chinese to join the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China held in Beijing, according to chinanews.com.

An official from the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of The State Council said most of the people invited were influential celebrities in various sectors who have made contributions to improve understanding between China and other countries, according to the report.

These overseas Chinese come from over 120 countries and regions around the world, and will join the Chinese people as they watch the October 1st National Day parade.
