Pilotless plane stolen by men giving mixed signals
(China Daily)
Updated: 2009-10-09 15:39 Three men in Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi province, were arrested recently for stealing a hi-tech pilotless plane used for aerial photography. Tang Jian, an engineer at a mapping and surveying company, and two accomplices stole the plane from Jian's employer during an in-flight photo session after Jian acquired the radio frequencies used to control the plane. Jian's accomplices then used remote controls to take over the pilotless craft and land it at their home. "We stole the plane to make money by setting up our own surveying and mapping firm," Tang said. (Huashang Daily) |
