Big companies caught hiding discharge emission info

Updated: 2009-10-14 17:07 Eighteen world top 500 and China top 100 corporations were found to be concealing their emission information during production, according to a survey by Greenpeace, www.ce.cn reported. Greenpeace said yesterday eight transnational corporations are on the list -- Shell, Samsung Electronics, Nestle, LG, Kraft, Motorola, Denso and Bridgestone. Ten Chinese corporations headed by Sinopec, Aluminum Corporation of China Limited and Dongfeng Automobile have also been named after violating the Regulation on Environmental Information Release that took effect in May last year.
According to the survey, 25 factories belonging to the corporations did not release their emission information within 30 days after being listed. |
