The English versions of the two books, one titled On Development of China's Information Technology Industry, and the other, Research on China's Energy Problem, were published by Elsevier Publishing Group with authorization of the Central Party Literature Publishing House and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press.
On Development of China's Information Technology Industry collects 27 of Jiang's published theses, reports, speeches and articles on the information technology (IT) industry between 1983 and 2008, as well as two appendixes, many of which were published for the first time. The book was co-edited by the Party Literature Research Center of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where Jiang won his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. The second book, Research on China's Energy Problem, was edited by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and its Chinese version was published by the university's publishing house in October 2008. Totaling over 50,000 Chinese characters, the book carries Jiang's important theses and three lectures. Speaking to the debut ceremony, Leng Rong, director of Party Literature Research Center of the CPC Central Committee and one of the editors of the books, spoke highly of the books. "These two books provide us with a systematic understanding about Mr. Jiang's pondering as well as theoretical exploration and academic innovation on these issues, and help us learn about the development stages, strategic policies and measures of China's IT and energy industries," he said. "Therefore, the two books are quite worth reading, especially for those caring about the development of China and even the world, for people interested in China as well as for experts and scholars on information technology and energy issues," he added. |
