SHIJIAZHUANG: Hebei province police have detained Yang Yongmeng, who used the Internet to slander his former girlfriend as an "AIDS-infected prostitute", Xinhua reported on Friday. Police in Beijing's Xuanwu district handed Yang over to policemen from Rongcheng county of Hebei province where he is likely to be charged with slander.
Yang met Yan Deli, a resident of a village in Hebei, in March 2008. Soon they became close and started living together.
He then started blogs in Yan's name on websites such as Sina.com and QQ.com, claiming that she had been raped by her stepfather and was now HIV-positive. He said, under Yan's name, that she was spreading the HIV virus to "new clients" every day. He posted 279 mobile phone numbers, which he found in Yan's and her elder brother's mobile phones, saying they were the numbers of her "clients". Xinhua |
