Updated: 2009-10-27 13:13 Qingdao: The Qingdao-Lianyungang Railway project recently approved by the Chinese Ministry of Railways is scheduled to start at the end of this year and be completed by 2012. About 21.04 billion yuan will be spent on the project.
The electrified double-line is designed after the first class lines of state-owned railways. When completed, the railway will accommodate various trains, including passenger trains, freight trains and motor train units, local railway authorities said. The Qingdao-Lianyungang railway is expected to shorten the distance from Qingdao to southern coastal cities by more than 300 km. |
