Abbot arrested for murder after 14 years

An abbot who became a Buddhist monk some 14 years ago was recently arrested on charges of murdering a woman in 1994.
Xiao, now 76, had an affair with a young woman in his home village in Huichang county, Jiangxi province, before he converted in 1994.
Xiao killed the woman after she became pregnant with his child.
Xiao, who was arrested recently, had been hiding in various temples of the province for 14 years, police said.
