A/H1N1 spreads in PLA

The A/H1N1 flu has spread fast through the People's Liberation Army, with a total of 51 incidents involving large though unspecified numbers of soldiers since the fall, according to the Ministry of Defense website, chinanews.com.cn reported today.

"Some cases involving hundreds of soldiers can be vey tough to handle," said Zhang Yanling, the head of Health Department of the general logistics department of PLA.

The number of such cases is not publicly known, but the PLA held an A/H1N1 flu outbreak drill in Beijing Wednesday.
