CHANGCHUN -- Two people were killed and four others injured Monday after a water tank bursted in a chemical plant in Jilin City of northeast China's Jilin Province, city authorities said.
The accident occurred at around 2:50 p.m. when six workers were examining and fixing the water tank, measuring 10 meters in diameter, of Jilin Fuel Alcohol Company Ltd, a spokesman with the municipal publicity department.
The six people were immediately sent to a local hospital where two died after first aid. The four injured were in stable condition, the spokesman said.
The accident brought no impact to the environment and police are investigating the case, the spokesman said.
