Biggest museum in SW China to be built in Chengdu

Chengdu, capital of Sichuan, is going to build the largest museum in Southwest China. It will occupy an area of over 65,000 square meters.

There will be more than 200,000 cultural relics in the new museum, including bronze wares, gold and silver wares, pottery, stone and brick carvings, paintings and leather-silhouettes. Construction is expected to take more than two years. When the museum opens to the public, admission will be free.

"We will let the relics talk via multimedia and three-dimensional technology", said Wang Yi, director of Chengdu Musuem.
